Dr. Rohen Shah started The Tutoring Lab after writing about learning gains for tutors in his dissertation paper, When the Student becomes the Master.

Shah received his Ph.D. in 2024 from the University of Chicago under the guidance of John List, Ariel Kalil, and Jens Ludwig.
